Industrial barium chloride is mainly used for heat treatment of metals, manufacture of barium salts and used in electronics, instrument, metallurgy and other industrial circles. Except being used as pesticide, analytical reagent and dehydrant, it is also widely applied in papermaking, dyestuff, rubber, plastic, ceramics, oil refining, petro-chemistry, etc. what’s more, it is used to remove sulfate radical in the salt water in chlorine-alkali industry. In recent years, the application of barium chloride is continuously expanded and products develop towards refinement. So upgrading and updating industry are irresistible trend. After the appearance of products with high-purity grade, ultra-high grade and other specifications, the market demand for industrial barium chloride is much more renewed and higher. GB/T 1617-2002 Barium Chloride for Industrial Use cannot satisfy the real product specification and grade, index parameter, mark, label, safety and other aspects. Standard revision is an inevitable trend for industry. The revision plan (Scheme No. 20110586-T-606) was announced in SAC (Standardization Administration of China) comprehensive document No.57[2011]—Notice on Issuing the First Batch of National Standard Revision Plan. The Inorganic Chemical Industry Subcommittee of National Standardization Technical Committee of Chemical had completed this revision by the end of 2012. From Dec.1st 2014, GB/T1617-2014 Barium Chloride for Industrial Use was put into effect. From the point of ensuring product quality identity and stability, the revised standard aims to break the hold of Japanese, Germany and American manufacturers over ultra-high grade products in the market. This standard conforms more to product manufacture and service condition, achieving the effects of uniform and standard market. It promotes the improvement of product quality and the export expansion. Besides, the new standard is of instructive significance in production management and sales market of Chinese manufacturing enterprises.
